an educational STEM kit designed for children ages 5 and up. It allows kids to construct a working door or drawer security system while learning foundational concepts in electronics and circuitry
Educational Objective: The kit serves as a hands-on introduction to electrical engineering, circuitry, and magnetism. Kids build a fully functioning alarm system by wiring core components together.
The Mechanism: The alarm functions by using a magnetic reed switch inside an electric circuit. The main unit is mounted to a door frame or cabinet wall, while the smaller magnetic unit is mounted right next to it on the moving door or drawer flap.
Trigger Action: When the door is closed, the magnet keeps the switch in a specific state. When an "intruder" opens the door, the magnet is pulled away. This break in the magnetic seal triggers the internal circuitry, instantly sounding a loud buzzer.
Requirements: The assembly requires 2 AAA batteries (not included) and a small crosshead/Phillips screwdriver to secure the battery casing.
